Veteran Actor Lee Nam-hee Passes Away at 64


Veteran actor Lee Nam-hee has passed away.

According to family members, Lee Nam-hee died on the 22nd at the age of 64. Despite battling a chronic illness, he was reportedly preparing for a return to the theater stage.

Lee Nam-hee had a prolific career spanning over 40 years, with notable performances in plays such as 'Antigone,' 'Othello,' and 'Unhyeongung Oraboni.' He also made his mark in television dramas like 'Doctor Prisoner,' 'Six Flying Dragons,' and 'God of War,' as well as films including 'Seoul Evita' and 'The Priests.'

In 2011, he received the Best Actor award at the 48th Dong-A Theatre Awards and the 4th Korea Theatre Awards for his role as Mephisto, a character abandoned by God, in the play 'Our Faust.'

Lee Nam-hee's memorial service is being held at Room 15 of the Sinchon Severance Hospital Funeral Hall in Seodaemun-gu, Seoul. The funeral will take place on the 24th at 10:20 AM, and he will be laid to rest at the Seoul City Cemetery.
