Kim Jong-kook has kept a promise he made 18 years ago to a junior director.
On the 21st, the production presentation for SBS Plus's new variety show 'The Manly Way to Travel' was broadcast online. The event was attended by Choo Sung-hoon, Kim Jong-kook, Daesung, and PD Kim Jin-ho.
'The Manly Way to Travel' is a program that captures the travel stories of men who follow their instincts. It is directed by Kim Jin-ho, known for his work on SBS's 'Law of the Jungle' and 'Jungle's Meal', and features the dynamic trio of men, raising expectations.
When asked how his experience directing 'Law of the Jungle' influenced this new show, PD Kim Jin-ho stated, "The experience of dealing with wild animals and unpredictable situations has been very helpful." In response, Kim Jong-kook jokingly asked, "Are you saying we're wild animals?" to which PD Kim Jin-ho replied, "I felt a lot of fear. Choo Sung-hoon kept low-kicking the PD."
Regarding the casting of the three men, PD Kim Jin-ho expressed gratitude, saying, "Daesung is the best idol and entertainer of our time. Kim Jong-kook kept a promise he made 18 years ago. When I was the youngest assistant director on 'Family Outing', I asked him to appear on my show someday, and he agreed without hesitation. Choo Sung-hoon has joined me on 'Law of the Jungle' four times. Even when he was busiest, he said, 'I have to go for Jin-ho.'"
'The Manly Way to Travel in Kyushu' premieres on the 21st at 8:40 PM.
