Ahn Hyo-seop and Chae Won-bin Share Chemistry Insights for Upcoming SBS Drama 'Today We Sold Out'

Ahn Hyo-seop opens up about his on-screen romance with Chae Won-bin, who is six years his junior.

The new SBS Wednesday-Thursday drama 'Today We Sold Out' is set to premiere on the 22nd at 9 PM. The show follows the story of a perfectionist farmer, Matthew Lee (aka Quail), and a sell-out show host, Dam Ye-jin, as they navigate their intertwined lives, delivering a fresh seasonal romance.

Anticipation builds for the chemistry between the cold rural farmer Matthew Lee (played by Ahn Hyo-seop) and the passionate city woman Dam Ye-jin (played by Chae Won-bin). The actors themselves have shared insights into their on-screen dynamics, drawing attention.

Ahn Hyo-seop commented on Chae Won-bin, saying, "She has a much more lovely and bright side than what I saw in her previous works. I thought she fit the character of Dam Ye-jin well. Through her, Matthew Lee gained a lot of energy, and I was truly grateful as a partner. There are moments in acting where we have to compromise and work through things together, and our chemistry was excellent in those aspects."

Recalling the filming, Chae Won-bin noted, "Ahn Hyo-seop had the pure gaze of a young boy, which brought out small, natural cuteness in each scene. His imagination and fun ideas were very helpful, and I truly enjoyed filming."

With such promising teamwork, the romance between Matthew Lee and Dam Ye-jin becomes even more intriguing. Ahn Hyo-seop mentioned the couple's nickname, 'Tudam Couple,' explaining, "During a recent content shoot, Chae Won-bin coined the term 'Tudam Couple.' It's derived from the playful interactions of Matthew Lee and Dam Ye-jin, and I found it endearing."

Chae Won-bin added, "Matthew Lee, who is smart and steadfast but endearingly clumsy in daily life, is a 'Hodang,' while Dam Ye-jin, who is always confident and strives to be so, is 'Dangdang.' Both characters are incredibly charming," further heightening interest in their dynamic and building anticipation for the premiere.
