Actor Park Hae-jun humorously criticized himself for almost falling during a photo session, saying he looked "too much like a gorilla."
On the 17th, a press conference for JTBC's new weekend drama 'All Struggling with Their Worthlessness' (hereafter 'ASWTW') was held at the Stanford Hotel in Sangam, Mapo-gu, Seoul. The event was attended by director Cha Young-hoon and actors Koo Kyo-hwan, Go Yoon-jung, Oh Jung-se, Kang Mal-geum, Park Hae-jun, and Han Sun-hwa.
'ASWTW' follows the journey of a person driven mad by jealousy and envy among successful friends, seeking peace. The drama is a collaboration between director Cha Young-hoon of 'When the Camellia Blooms' and writer Park Hae-young, known for 'My Mister' and 'My Liberation Notes.'
Park Hae-jun takes on the role of Hwang Jin-man, a former poet turned welder and the brother of Hwang Dong-man. During the photo session, Park lost his balance, eliciting laughter. In a group interview afterward, he expressed his embarrassment, saying, "I saw the photos that were uploaded. I'm still in shock. I looked too much like a gorilla."
Discussing his character Hwang Jin-man, Park remarked, "He's similar to my current situation. He's a character battling self-doubt, digging his own grave and suffering." His comments drew laughter from the audience.
When asked about the character's resemblance to himself, Park stated, "I'm worried my earlier antics might tarnish the character. I'll keep a distance between myself and the character. He's truly different from me. This character is charming and impressive, worthy of following in the footsteps of Yang Gwan-sik from 'The Great Show.'"
The 12-episode series 'ASWTW' premieres on the 18th at 10:40 PM.
