Actor Ahn Hyo-seop shared his thoughts on the pressure of SBS's consistent success.
On the 15th, a press conference for SBS's new Wednesday-Thursday drama 'Onmaejin' was held at the SBS Hall in Mok-dong, Yangcheon-gu, Seoul. The event was attended by director Ahn Jong-yeon, actors Ahn Hyo-seop, Chae Won-bin, and Kim Bum.
'Onmaejin' is a romantic comedy that follows the story of perfectionist farmer Matthew Lee (played by Ahn Hyo-seop) and sell-out show host Dam Ye-jin (played by Chae Won-bin) as they become entangled day and night.
Ahn Hyo-seop, often referred to as the 'Romantic Comedy King,' humbly stated, "I don't believe it. I'm not sure," adding, "I just worked hard according to the script." When asked if he gave any advice to Chae Won-bin and Kim Bum, who are trying their hand at romantic comedy for the first time, Ahn said, "Rather than giving advice, since there are elements of romance and comedy, it was important to maintain balance. I had many discussions with the director."
Having achieved consecutive hits on SBS with dramas like 'Dr. Romantic' which surpassed a 27% viewership rating, 'Lovers of the Red Sky,' and 'Business Proposal,' Ahn addressed the nickname 'SBS's Son' by saying, "I feel embarrassed every time. Whenever I see a good script, it's always SBS. There's nothing that changes by feeling pressured, so I want to focus on the present."
'Onmaejin' is set to premiere on the 22nd at 9 PM.
