Actors IU and Byeon Woo-seok reminisce about their connection from a decade ago.
On the 13th, the YouTube channel 'Elle Korea' released a video titled 'IU and Byeon Woo-seok Have a Lot to Say to Each Other as Newlyweds in the 21st Century Grand Prince's Wife'.
In the video, IU and Byeon Woo-seok appeared to promote the MBC drama '21st Century Grand Prince's Wife', engaging in playful banter throughout.
Discussing their character synchronization in the drama, IU commented, "Byeon Woo-seok's prince-like appearance is a perfect 100, but his personality is a 50. Woo-seok is very cute and kind, but his character Wan is a bit cold due to his many scars."
Byeon Woo-seok rated IU and her character Seong Hee-joo's synchronization as "about 60," noting, "Hee-joo has a tendency to push forward with her thoughts, which is different from IU's personality."
The two shared amusing anecdotes. IU revealed, "He keeps saying my feet are ugly during filming," to which Byeon Woo-seok humorously responded, "I never paid attention to her feet, but she suddenly asked, 'You saw my feet, right?' which made me look."
When asked about ad-libs, IU said, "He's someone I want to joke around with a lot," adding, "I think Woo-seok started avoiding me later on." Byeon Woo-seok agreed, saying, "IU is truly playful."
They also expressed gratitude towards each other. Byeon Woo-seok said, "I'm thankful she acted so passionately even when she wasn't on camera. I became a fan then." IU recalled, "I was worried during the first shoot, but he appeared just like a prince, so I didn't need to immerse myself."
However, there were also moments of annoyance. IU mentioned, "He's tall, but sometimes he wears shoes with heels," jokingly adding, "I once asked if he could just wear socks." Byeon Woo-seok confessed, "She teases me when she leaves first."
The duo also touched on their past connection. Byeon Woo-seok appeared as IU's ex-boyfriend who betrayed her in the drama 'Moon Lovers: Scarlet Heart Ryeo'.
Byeon Woo-seok recalled, "There was a scene where I had to push her. I could have done it gently, but due to my lack of experience, I pushed hard," expressing his regret. IU, who had said "It's okay" at the time, jokingly added, "My tailbone still hasn't healed."
Reflecting on the past, IU said, "It's already been 10 years. It's amazing to have worked together since then, and that's why our chemistry is so good now. I think people will appreciate our chemistry."
Meanwhile, IU and Byeon Woo-seok are starring as Seong Hee-joo and Lee Wan in the MBC drama '21st Century Grand Prince's Wife'.
