K-pop icon Lee Hyori (47) is mourning the passing of her father.

On the 12th, Lee Hyori's father, the late Lee Joong-kwang, passed away. The funeral is being held at Room 1 of the Seoul Chung-Ang University Hospital Funeral Hall. The burial will take place on the morning of the 14th at 7 AM, with the final resting place in Seonyeong, Eumseong County, Chungbuk. Lee Hyori, along with her husband Lee Sang-soon, is listed as the chief mourner.

In 2022, during the tvN show 'Canada Check-in,' Lee Hyori revealed that her father was battling an illness. She expressed, "I should contact my mom more often, but I don't because it's always about difficult things." She added, "My father, who is ill, hasn't forgotten me," and tearfully noted, "It's amazing to see my mom taking care of my sick dad until the end."

Lee Hyori debuted in 1998 with the girl group Fin.K.L and has enjoyed a successful solo career. Her 2008 album 'It's Hyorish' included the track 'Barber's Daughter,' which tells the story of her father who ran a barbershop.

Lee Hyori married fellow musician Lee Sang-soon in 2013.
