Comedian Lee Jin-ho Hospitalized After Suffering Brain Hemorrhage

Comedian Lee Jin-ho has been hospitalized following a brain hemorrhage, news that has only recently come to light.

On the 9th, Lee Jin-ho's agency, SM C&C, announced, "On the afternoon of April 1st, Lee Jin-ho suddenly collapsed due to a brain hemorrhage and was admitted to the hospital. He has since regained consciousness and is focusing on his recovery." It is reported that Lee Jin-ho is currently receiving treatment in the intensive care unit, but his life is not in danger.

Lee Jin-ho debuted as a comedian through SBS in 2005 and gained popularity with his 'Woong's Father' character on the show 'Gag Concert.' He has since appeared in various programs, showcasing his talent.

However, in October 2024, it was revealed that he was involved in illegal online gambling, leading to his departure from all broadcasts. It was also disclosed that he borrowed money from fellow entertainers. He expressed remorse, stating, "In 2020, I started playing games on an illegal online gambling site by chance and ended up with debts I couldn't handle. The financial loss was significant, but I am most sorry to those who trusted me and lent me money. I promise to repay my debts no matter what."

In September last year, he was caught driving under the influence in Yangpyeong, Gyeonggi Province. Additionally, in December, it was revealed that he had defaulted on approximately 28.84 million won in national health insurance payments since April 2023.

Despite the controversies, there is a growing chorus of well-wishers hoping for Lee Jin-ho's speedy recovery.
