Chefs Jung Ho-young and Jung Ji-sun are setting their sights on international expansion with a tour in Hong Kong.
On the upcoming episode of KBS2's variety show 'The Boss Has Donkey Ears' (also known as 'Sadaengwi'), airing on the 5th at 4:40 PM, Jung Ho-young, who has recently risen to the top 4 of black-and-white chefs and is emerging as a global top chef, embarks on a journey to the culinary city of Hong Kong to pursue his dream of international expansion.
Jung Ho-young has chosen Jung Ji-sun, who has extensive experience in the Chinese-speaking world, and prospective investor Yang Jun-hyuk to assist in his overseas venture. Together, they visit famous restaurants from the heart of Hong Kong's 'Central' to the newly popular 'West Kowloon Cultural District' to analyze the market.
Jung Ji-sun announces plans to open her first store in Taiwan this year. Having been invited to global culinary events in Taiwan, New York, and other locations, she showcases her prowess as a global star chef. Upon revealing her plans to open her first overseas store in Taiwan, Jung Ho-young expresses his envy, stating, "I also need to expand overseas this year," and jokingly asks, "Ji-sun, should I work at your new overseas store?" eliciting laughter.
Jung Ji-sun hints at the possibility of opening a second overseas store in Hong Kong, sparking interest. She shares that she was the first Korean chef invited to the Wine Festival in Hong Kong and recalls hosting a VIP dinner at the top floor of a building valued at 4 trillion won, further proving her popularity in both Taiwan and Hong Kong.
Meanwhile, Jung Ho-young visits a high-end fusion Chinese restaurant in Central, where he indulges in dishes like Iberico Pluma Char Siu, signature smoked cod, and Peking duck. As he analyzes the menu, he inquires about the local market, asking questions like, "How is the business here?" and "What is the monthly revenue?" indicating his serious investigation into opening an overseas store.
