Family Faces Challenges in Rural Town: Education Woes and Wi-Fi Woes Unfold
A family settling in a remote rural town encounters a challenging adaptation period, facing poor educational facilities and unreliable Wi-Fi.

On the October 2nd episode of KBS2TV's 'Simwoo-myeon Yeonliri' (directed by Choi Yeon-soo, written by Song Jeong-rim, Wang Hye-ji, Kim Eun-young, Choi So-jin), viewers saw Jo Mi-ryeo (played by Lee Soo-kyung) shocked by the unexpected size of the local school.

During the episode, Seong Ji-sang (played by Seo Yoon-hyuk) expressed his frustration over the malfunctioning Wi-Fi, to which Jo Mi-ryeo retorted, "Do you think money falls from the sky?"

Jo Mi-ryeo, dealing with the delay in selling their house in Canada, couldn't hide her financial stress. While searching for nearby Simwoo Elementary School online, she was taken aback to discover that the elementary and middle schools were combined, with only five students in total. "Are you saying the entire school has only five students, not just one class?" she exclaimed in disbelief.

Despite her initial shock, Jo Mi-ryeo tried to persuade her children that the closest school was the best option. However, Seong Ji-sang refused to attend, leading to a tense standoff. Jo Mi-ryeo firmly insisted, "Seong Ji-sang, you must go," warning that she would hold him accountable if his grades remained low, demonstrating her strong commitment to education. The tension escalated when Seong Tae-hoon (played by Park Sung-woong) returned home in disarray, dramatically shifting the atmosphere. The children recoiled from his odor, and Seong Tae-hoon lamented, "The cursed land ruined my clothes," expressing his frustration.

Jo Mi-ryeo was startled by Seong Tae-hoon's inappropriate language in front of the children and cautioned him, but the family's chaotic scene was not easily calmed. The harsh realities of rural life and the conflicts arising from the family's strong personalities sparked curiosity about their tumultuous journey ahead. The disparity in educational opportunities and the differing values between the couple emerged as key points of interest in the unfolding drama.
