Comedian Kim Kyung-wook Credits Singer Crush as His Benefactor

Comedian Kim Kyung-wook has revealed that singer Crush is his benefactor.

On the 30th, a video titled 'Unpredictable Charm Sayuri X Kim Kyung-wook. And the Appearance of Sayuri's Men?!' was uploaded on the YouTube channel 'Jjanhyeong Shin Dong-yup'.

In the video, Kim Kyung-wook mentioned his alter ego Tanaka, saying, "In fact, Tanaka was introduced by Crush." He recalled, "Tanaka's (host) job is part of Japan's underground culture, so even though people liked it, they couldn't openly say 'I'm enjoying it'."

He continued, "During the COVID-19 quarantine, Crush mentioned Tanaka as 'the only content that helps me through quarantine and keeps me from feeling lonely.' As soon as I saw the story, I sent a DM asking, 'Crush-san, do you like Tanaka?' and we ended up creating content together." He added, "Since then, I started a talk show format inviting celebrities. Choo Sung-hoon and Paderners appeared, and it gained popularity. So, Crush always feels like a benefactor to me."

Hearing this, Shin Dong-yup commented, "You should never forget such things until you die. You should be really grateful," to which Kim Kyung-wook replied, "I hosted the wedding of Crush's manager. I was very thankful."

Tanaka wasn't successful from the start. Kim Kyung-wook explained, "I released a music video related to Tanaka for the first time in 2018, and it got 1,000 views. I thought it was a failure. But a year later, it reached 10,000 views, and the response started coming in. I uploaded it again after a break, and it got a reaction."

Meanwhile, Crush has been publicly dating Red Velvet's Joy since 2021.
