Go Youn-jung's character dynamics with her 14-year senior, Koo Kyo-hwan, are unveiled in the upcoming JTBC drama 'Everyone is Fighting Their Own Worthlessness' (shortened as 'EFW').
The drama follows the journey of individuals struggling with jealousy and envy amidst successful peers, as they seek inner peace.
Go Youn-jung portrays 'Byun Eun-ah', a character harboring deep-seated anxiety. She personally crafted a mind map to enhance understanding of her role.
A significant part of her mind is occupied by 'Choi Film', the film company where Byun Eun-ah works as a planning PD. Her sharp insight and fresh script reviews earned her the nickname 'Axe PD', but her exceptional skills have also sparked intense jealousy from her boss, Choi Dong-hyun (played by Choi Won-young). This sets the stage for Byun Eun-ah's fierce survival story as she navigates workplace challenges.
At the core of Byun Eun-ah's mind lies 'anxiety'. She experiences nosebleeds when faced with strained relationships or unexpected emotions, a physical manifestation of past traumas resurfacing. Despite her meticulous exterior, her precarious inner world piques curiosity about its origins.
Her grandmother holds a profound significance beyond family ties. The grandmother, who raised her with love and care, fills the void left by her absent mother. Serving as a steadfast anchor amidst life's storms, she inspires Byun Eun-ah to become a resilient woman, fighting her sense of worthlessness in her own way.
Lastly, 'Hwang Dong-man' (played by Koo Kyo-hwan) revitalizes Byun Eun-ah's world. While others dismiss him for not debuting in 20 years, Byun Eun-ah perceives his indomitable spirit. She believes Hwang Dong-man possesses an innocent energy with countless possibilities, sparking anticipation for how these two characters will fill each other's voids.
'EFW' premieres on April 18 at 10:40 PM.
