On the afternoon of the 30th, a press call for 'Girlfriend' was held at Baekam Art Hall in Gangnam. The event was attended by co-director No Woo-jin, music director J ACO, and actors Kim Jae-han, Yeon-ho, Ok Jin-wook, Tae-ho, Hong Eun-ki, Na Sang-do, Niel, Lee Ho-won, Kim Hyun-joong, and Lee Do-kyung.
Set in the 1990s, 'Girlfriend' tells the story of two youths, Will and Mike, who connect through music as they approach graduation. Despite their indifferent appearances, both characters live with their own insecurities and deficiencies. As they hesitate in the face of unfamiliar emotions, they gradually close the gap in their relationship.
Trot singer Choi Jae-myung steps onto the musical stage for the first time with this production. He recalled, "When I first received the casting offer, I accepted without hesitation because I'm not someone who gets scared easily."
He continued, "I've learned a lot from the efforts of those with extensive acting experience, which has motivated me to work harder. I'm someone with a strong P personality, who dislikes setting things in stone, but I feel like I'm becoming more J. I'm the youngest among the cast, so I have to align with the small promises for the stage, and I'm doing well with the older members."
He also expressed his openness to feedback, saying, "I ask for honest evaluations from many people."
Meanwhile, 'Girlfriend' will be performed at Baekam Art Hall from the 31st to June 7th.
