Actress Jang Young-nam recently shared her fond memories of working with actors Park Bo-gum and Park Bo-young, who played her children in past roles.
Jang Young-nam appeared on a recent episode of MBN's 'Kim Joo-ha's Day & Night' alongside fellow actor Jang Hyun-sung, where they discussed their current play, 'French Safe'.
During the broadcast, Jang Young-nam revealed that she has worked with about 30 actors in child roles. When asked which actors left the most lasting impression, she mentioned Park Bo-gum and Park Bo-young, saying, "I first played a mother role in my 30s, and it didn't feel strange to me. I remember Park Bo-gum and Bo-young. They were so beautiful, such beautiful people. They were very diligent and had a gentle nature."
Jang Young-nam also shared her experiences playing the mother of actors Cha Tae-hyun and Hwang Jung-min. She particularly recalled working with Hwang Jung-min in the film 'Ode to My Father', where she portrayed a character from her 30s to her 70s.
She recounted how Hwang Jung-min would call her 'mother' on set, saying, "In 'Ode to My Father', I played the mother role, spanning from my 30s to my 70s or 80s. So, when the senior actor saw me, he might not have thought of me as a mother. But he would deliberately call me 'mother' loudly on set, which was a great help and I was thankful for it."
Meanwhile, the play 'French Safe' is being performed at the Yes24 Stage in Seoul until the 13th of next month.
