Entertainer Ji Suk-jin shared his thoughts on winning an award.
On the 27th, a press conference for Netflix's 'Manhakdo Ji-C' was held at a cafe in Sangam-dong, Seoul. Present at the event were Ji Suk-jin, Oh My Girl's Mimi, and director Jeong Do-dam.
Netflix's variety show 'Manhakdo Ji-C' (directed by Jeong Do-dam, produced by TEO) is a reality-based knowledge exploration show that breaks down the barriers of knowledge with raw questions. Ji Suk-jin, a lifelong learner even at the age of sixty, and Mimi, a member of Oh My Girl known for her sharp questions, serve as hosts.
Previously, Ji Suk-jin made headlines by winning an award on the YouTube channel 'Pinggye-go'. Regarding this, Ji Suk-jin said, "I was worried it might not happen, but fortunately, I received the award and was congratulated."
He continued, "There are talks of awards at other broadcasters too, but winning an award isn't that important in my life," indirectly referencing last year's SBS 'Entertainment Awards' where he did not win. "Of course, it's an honor and I'm grateful, but I don't want to feel burdened by the weight of the award."
Ji Suk-jin also shared, "In the past, I thought, 'I've lived enough to deserve an award,' but now I'm just grateful for everything. I'm thankful to be speaking here." He added, "It would be a lie to say there's no weight on my shoulders. I feel I need to work harder."
Additionally, he expressed his excitement about the new show, saying, "When I first received the proposal for 'Manhakdo Ji-C' after winning the award, I felt really good. I thought, 'I've come a long way.' Originally, it was 'Manhakdo Ji Suk-jin,' but it changed to 'Ji-C,' which I liked even more. I decided to approach it with ease to avoid unnecessary pressure."
'Manhakdo Ji-C' will premiere on Netflix on the 30th at 5 PM, releasing episodes 1 and 2. Subsequent episodes will be released every Monday at 5 PM.
