Park Hae-soo Returns with Intense Role in New Drama 'Scarecrow'
Park Hae-soo makes a powerful comeback in the upcoming ENA drama 'Scarecrow,' set to premiere on November 20.

The production team of 'Scarecrow' recently unveiled character stills of Park Hae-soo, who returns as detective 'Kang Tae-joo,' a character in pursuit of truth and justice.

'Scarecrow' follows the story of a detective investigating a serial murder case who unexpectedly teams up with someone he despises. Spanning from 1988 to 2019, the drama presents a suspenseful chase for truth between two men entangled in a web of hatred and fate. Directed by Park Joon-woo, known for his work on 'Taxi Driver' and 'Crash,' and written by Lee Ji-hyun, who previously collaborated with Park on 'Taxi Driver,' the drama promises high-quality storytelling.

Park Hae-soo, renowned for his expertise in genre dramas, raises expectations and trust among viewers with his choice to star in 'Scarecrow.' He plays 'Kang Tae-joo,' an ace detective with keen observation skills and sharp instincts. After being demoted to his hometown of Gangseong, he encounters Cha Si-young (played by Lee Hee-jun), a prosecutor and a figure from his past. Caught in a dilemma of having to catch a criminal he loathes with the help of someone he despises, Kang Tae-joo's determination and passion intensify.

In the midst of uniformed officers, Kang Tae-joo stands out with his casual style, unbuttoning his jacket and exuding a formidable presence. Despite the serious atmosphere, he nonchalantly chews on a lollipop and props his feet on the chair in front of him. However, following an incident, he is transferred from Seoul to Gangseong. As he reviews case files at the Gangseong Police Station, mysterious murders begin to occur. Kang Tae-joo's sharp instincts as an ace detective are more piercing than ever at the new crime scenes.

Returning to TV dramas after five years, Park Hae-soo expressed his excitement, saying, "I'm eager to meet viewers through this channel. It's a mix of nervousness and joy to greet everyone after such a long time." He added, "I was drawn to the narrative power of 'Scarecrow' and the weight of the character 'Kang Tae-joo' as he encounters and endures various cases."

He further explained, "While Kang Tae-joo may not be entirely righteous, he is certainly confident in himself. He genuinely seeks to understand and empathize with the victims and those around them as he navigates through a brutal serial murder case. Despite failures and challenges, he strives to live against injustice." Park Hae-soo expressed his admiration for the character, stating, "I was attracted to Kang Tae-joo's willingness to confront his vulnerabilities and shortcomings. I wanted to learn from him."

The new ENA Monday-Tuesday drama 'Scarecrow' will premiere on November 20 at 10 PM on ENA, and will also be available on KT Genie TV and TVING.
