‘I Am SOLO’ Star Young-sik Criticizes Fame Seekers on Reality TV

Young-sik from the 20th season of 'I Am SOLO, Love Continues' has spoken out against those who appear on the show seeking fame.

On the October 26th episode of SBS Plus and ENA's reality show 'I Am SOLO, Love Continues,' Young-sik captured the hearts of five single women.

During the episode, Young-sik had a conversation with Sun-ja from the 24th season, admitting, "I haven't watched the show all the way through, but when I saw Sun-ja firmly stating she only eats vegetarian, I thought she was a stubborn person trying to stand out."

Sun-ja responded, "It seems my image wasn't good," expressing her disappointment. Young-sik added, "I thought she would force vegetarianism on others." In an interview with the producers, Young-sik criticized those who use their appearance on 'I Am SOLO' to launch YouTube channels or become influencers, saying it doesn't align with his values.

He further commented, "I felt her (Sun-ja's) intentions were not good. Although some negative perceptions and misunderstandings have been cleared, we need to build something new. However, there seems to be no catalyst for that."

Meanwhile, Sang-cheol from the 13th season, Young-cheol from the 15th season, and Young-cheol from the 27th season all expressed their anticipation for Young-ja from the 25th season to return, stating, "There is no second choice." When Young-ja finally arrived at the accommodation, she gifted everyone with postcards she had drawn herself. The single men were touched by her sincerity, and Young-cheol from the 27th season bravely asked for a one-on-one conversation. He then expressed his interest in going on a date with her.

Later, Young-sik asked Young-ja, "What did you like about Young-ho from the 18th season?" Young-ja replied, "He was witty during his introduction, which caught my attention. I haven't decided on a specific path yet." She playfully added, "My first impression choice was Young-sik from the 20th season. I almost became the unanimous choice, preventing a 5:1 date disaster."

Young-sik then asked, "Did Young-ho from the 18th season grill meat for you? I can grill meat too," to which Young-ja responded, "Will you grill it separately at the accommodation?" Amidst the sweet atmosphere, Young-sik shared his romantic ideals, describing his ideal partner as someone with a sense of romance. Young-ja flirted back, saying, "That sounds just like me. Are you talking about me?"

After talking for over an hour in the rain, Young-ja told the producers, "Everyone was great, but I felt more emotions towards Young-sik from the 20th season. During our conversation, I sensed romance in his moist eyes." Young-sik, however, stated, "There hasn't been a change in my feelings. Young-ja from the 25th season is about 60% for me, with 5% less than that." He made it clear that Sun-ja from the 17th season remains his top choice. The preview for the next episode showed the single men competing for Young-ja's attention, promising an exciting showdown.
