In the tvN Monday-Tuesday drama 'Siren,' Kim Jung-hyun takes on the role of Baek Joon-beom, a rising tycoon. His portrayal, which drives the emotions and relationships within the story, is enhanced by his expressive eyes that add depth to the narrative.
From his first appearance, Kim Jung-hyun exudes Baek Joon-beom's unique chilly aura. His intense gaze at chief auctioneer Han Seol-ah (played by Park Min-young) creates tension, instantly changing the atmosphere and leaving a strong impression. Additionally, Joon-beom surprises viewers by turning cold when assistant auctioneer Kim Yoon-ji (played by Lee Elijah) greets him.
Joon-beom's approach to Seol-ah, as if he knows everything, piques curiosity. He willingly entrusts artworks to her and makes irresistible offers to recruit her, naturally closing the distance between them. His gaze, sometimes relaxed and other times persistent, adds layers to his character, amplifying his mysterious nature.
Most notably, Joon-beom's gaze changes when he faces Seol-ah. The usually cold character shows a subtle vulnerability only in her presence. In a particularly chilling moment, Joon-beom asks Seol-ah, "Do you think Su-ho died because of you?" with a meaningful look, creating a tense atmosphere. He further reveals the involvement of Lee Su-ho (played by Kim Dong-jun) between them by asking, "Do you think I'm seeking revenge?" adding to the intrigue.
Through subtle variations in his gaze, Kim Jung-hyun convincingly portrays the complex inner world of Baek Joon-beom. As the episodes progress, viewers are eager to see how Kim will unravel Joon-beom's story.
'Siren' airs every Monday and Tuesday at 8:50 PM.
