What Chemistry Will the Opposite Detectives Show?

The newly released stills capture the intriguing dynamic between veteran detective Jae-hyuk (played by Bae Sung-woo) and rookie detective Joong-ho (played by Jung Ga-ram). Their contrasting styles are evident from their attire, with Jae-hyuk in a shabby jumper and Joong-ho in a flashy patterned shirt. Despite being partners, they clash at every turn, even engaging in physical altercations. Jae-hyuk relies on intuition, while Joong-ho is driven by logic, yet they share the common goal of catching the real culprit. From car chases to stakeouts, the duo gradually becomes a seamless team, and a selfie of them together hints at the film's buddy movie charm.

Director Promises Familiar Yet Exciting K-Detective Drama

Director Park Cheol-hwan expressed confidence in the film's appeal, stating, "It's a buddy detective drama centered around two men. While the setup is familiar, it promises plenty of entertainment." Bae Sung-woo, who plays Jae-hyuk, shared, "We filmed with great camaraderie and had a lot of fun." Jung Ga-ram, portraying Joong-ho, added, "We spent 99% of the filming time together, sharing many conversations and relying on each other," heightening anticipation for their on-screen chemistry.

'The Ultimate Investigation,' filmed seven years ago, will finally hit theaters on April 2.
