Actor Lee Ho-cheol, 40, has revealed that he lost his entire fortune in a failed stock investment.
On the October 22nd episode of SBS's variety show 'My Little Old Boy,' Lee Ho-cheol was visited by Kim Hee-chul, Bae Jung-nam, and Tae Hang-ho at his home.
The episode showcased Lee, who is unmarried, watering plants and exercising while watching idol performances, capturing viewers' attention. The doorbell rang, and Kim Hee-chul, Bae Jung-nam, and Tae Hang-ho arrived for a housewarming party.
Lee Ho-cheol's New Home: Renting for 1.5 Million Won
While touring the house, Kim Hee-chul remarked, “This isn’t the house I visited with Sandara Park,” impressed by the larger space. When asked if he owned the place, Lee Ho-cheol revealed, “I pay 1.2 million won in rent and 300,000 won in maintenance fees.”
Tae Hang-ho commented, “With 1.5 million won a month, you should save instead,” to which Lee responded, “It’s cheaper than Seoul.” Tae Hang-ho advised, “Consider moving to a smaller place to save on rent and think of it as saving money.”
Kim Hee-chul added, “I also want to move to a smaller place because cleaning is hard and maintenance fees are high.” However, Lee Ho-cheol humorously replied, “Just don’t clean,” frustrating his friends.
The Story Behind Lee Ho-cheol's Financial Loss
When Kim Hee-chul asked if he planned to buy a home, Lee Ho-cheol admitted, “I have no money. I lost it all in stocks.” He explained, “I’m down 60%. I invested almost everything. I’ll never do stocks again.” Tae Hang-ho, surprised by Lee's cheerful demeanor, remarked, “Why do you tell such a sad story so brightly?”
