Legendary comedy duo Lee Young-ja and Jung Sun-hee are set to unveil the raw truth behind their 30-year journey.
On the 35th episode of tvN STORY's 'What's the Use of Leaving It?' airing on the 23rd at 8 PM, the stars of the past hit 'The People of Geumchon' will gather to share behind-the-scenes stories filled with tears and laughter. Invited by Jung Sun-hee, this reunion marks their first meeting in 30 years, sparking curiosity about which members will attend.
Lee Young-ja Takes on Manager Role for Rookie Jung Sun-hee
The episode will reminisce about the movie-like first encounter between Lee Young-ja and Jung Sun-hee. Lee Young-ja recognized the exceptional talent of the then-rookie Jung Sun-hee and took it upon herself to manage her. A shocking story will be revealed about how Lee handed over a contract fee equivalent to the price of an apartment in a 007 briefcase to cast Jung Sun-hee, astonishing the cast.
30-Year Friendship: Overcoming a Crisis
However, their friendship wasn't always smooth sailing. There was a tense moment when Lee Young-ja declared an end to their friendship after being upset by something Jung Sun-hee said. Yet, upon hearing about Jung Sun-hee's marriage, Lee Young-ja reached out first, even creating a wedding invitation, showcasing their strong bond and moving the audience.
Jung Sun-hee candidly recalls the most challenging times in her life, including the pain of losing a loved one, the debts left behind, and the baseless malicious comments she endured. However, she was able to stand again thanks to the support of colleagues like Lee Kyung-sil and Kim Young-chul.
This special episode, themed around 'The People of Geumchon,' will be divided into three parts. The first part will reveal the 30-year survival story of Lee Young-ja and Jung Sun-hee, who went from fans to colleagues. Later, they will visit the filming location with the Geumchon family and enjoy a special meal prepared by Chef Lee Won-il, reminiscing about the past.
