Comedian Kang Yu-mi Parodies Actress Kim Ji-ho's Book Defacement Controversy in Viral Vlog

Comedian Kang Yu-mi has stirred up buzz with her latest vlog content parodying actress Kim Ji-ho's public library book defacement controversy.

On the 19th, Kang Yu-mi's YouTube channel, 'Kang Yu-mi's Channel for Fun,' released a video titled 'Hello Everyone, It's Been a While.' In the video, Kang Yu-mi portrays a character with a pharmacist parent running a large pharmacy in Jongno and a boyfriend earning a six-figure salary at a foreign corporation.

Highlighting Books and Tearing Pages: A Dig at Kim Ji-ho?

Kang Yu-mi perfectly embodies a vain character living a showy life, saying, "I don't care what others think." She adds, "I read books every morning. It's my breakfast," and "I jog every morning and then go to the local library to borrow books."

Particularly eye-catching is the scene where Kang Yu-mi highlights lines in a public library book with a marker as soon as she sits down. She even tears out the highlighted pages to keep them. After the video was released, online speculation arose that this was a jab at actress Kim Ji-ho's book defacement controversy.

Morning Yoga Recreation... "Perfect Kim Ji-ho Imitation"?

Kim Ji-ho has often shared her home yoga routine. In the video, Kang Yu-mi is also seen enjoying morning yoga, saying, "Letting go of self-care is like letting go of oneself," adding weight to netizens' speculations.

Upon the video's release, netizens praised Kang Yu-mi's comedy, saying, "This seems like a parody of the recent controversy over an actress defacing library books," "She really nailed Kim Ji-ho's mannerisms," and "As expected from a cyber anthropologist," while also leaving critical comments about Kim Ji-ho.

Kim Ji-ho Apologized for 'Book Defacement Controversy' Last Month...

Meanwhile, actress Kim Ji-ho faced public backlash last month after posting a photo on her social media of a library book she had borrowed with highlighted lines. Kim Ji-ho later apologized, saying, "I habitually highlighted lines in the book I borrowed from the public library, as I do in my own books," and promised to replace the book by either purchasing a new one for the library or compensating them.
