Cinecube to Showcase Acclaimed Korean Independent Films from Busan International Film Festival
Cinecube, an art cinema operated by Taekwang Group's media subsidiary Tcast, will screen nine acclaimed Korean independent films from the Busan International Film Festival from April 1 to 10. This screening is part of the 'Gwanghwamun-bound Film Train 2026: Busan International Film Festival Korean Film Screening in Cinecube' event, co-hosted with the Busan International Film Festival.

What Award-Winning Films Will Be Screened?

The lineup includes Chung Chung Chung, which won the Special Jury Prize at the Busan International Film Festival and the New Choice Award at the Seoul Independent Film Festival, noted for its unique direction and energy. Flowing Journey, starring Justin H. Min, received the Directors Guild of Korea Plus M Award and the KBS Independent Film Award. Director Yoo Jae-in's On the Way to Erase is a double award-winner, having secured both the Best Actor Award and the New Currents Award.

Other notable films include Coming of Age, featuring standout performances by actors Ki Joo-bong, Ha Yoon-kyung, and Yang Mal-bok; the mystery thriller Maze, produced and starred by actor Go Kyung-pyo; director Lee Je-han's new work By Another Name; Choi Seung-woo's Winter Days; Yoo Jae-wook's Mountain Goats; and Lee Kwang-kuk's Deep Sleep. These films, recognized for their individuality and artistic merit, offer a glimpse into the present and future of Korean cinema.

Will There Be Opportunities to Meet Directors and Actors?


Cinecube will also host CineTalk programs, where directors and actors engage directly with the audience. On April 4, following the screening of By Another Name, director Lee Je-han and actors Moon In-hwan and Hwang Mi-young will be present. On April 9, director Han Chang-rok of Chung Chung Chung will meet the audience. On April 10, actor Go Kyung-pyo will participate in a CineTalk after the screening of Maze.

Cinecube's team leader Park Ji-ye stated, "Collaborating with the Busan International Film Festival allows us to present high-quality Korean independent films to audiences, which is significant. This event will showcase the strength and potential of Korean independent cinema."
