Kim Gura Opens Up About His Divorce on New TV Show

Kim Gura, 55, recently spoke about his divorce from his ex-wife.

On the October 17th episode of TV Chosun's new variety show 'X's Private Life,' host Kim Gura candidly discussed his past marriage.

During the opening segment, co-host Jang Yoon-jung described the show as "quite daring," explaining, "After a divorce, one might wonder, 'Is my ex living well without me?' This program explores the private lives of former spouses, even observing their new relationships."

Kim Gura, who is divorced, commented, "I believe that divorce is neither something to boast about nor something to be ashamed of." Comedian Yoon Hyung-bin's wife, Jung Kyung-mi, added, "If I were to divorce, I'd be curious about how my ex is living." Meanwhile, Cheon Rok-dam (Lee Jung), who had a belated wedding in 2022, said, "I don't think I could watch."

In response, Kim Gura joked, "With a name like Cheon Rok-dam, shouldn't you have a heart as broad as Baekrokdam?" Cheon replied, "I think my heart is broad enough not to divorce." Kim Gura retorted, "I loved too, but circumstances led to the divorce."

Lee Jung was taken aback by Kim Gura's comment and laughed, while subtitles on the screen supported Kim Gura's remarriage, stating, "You're happy now."

Kim Gura divorced in 2015 due to financial issues involving loans and guarantees taken by his ex-wife. He repaid her debt of 1.7 billion won (approximately $1.5 million) within three years. In 2020, he remarried a woman 12 years his junior, and they welcomed a daughter, Su-hyun, in 2021.
