Lee Soon-sil's Bold Attempt at KBS 'National Singing Contest' After 30kg Weight Loss

Despite her business success, Lee Soon-sil, known for her lack of singing skills, is set to challenge herself in the KBS 'National Singing Contest' auditions. Lee recently revealed she lost 30kg with the help of Wegovy.

In the KBS2 variety show 'The Boss Has Donkey Ears' (hereafter referred to as 'The Boss'), Lee's journey to the singing contest is showcased. To pass the auditions, she chose the song 'Modern Woman, Modern Man' and sought urgent help from veteran singer Hyun-sook, who has 47 years of experience.

Hyun-sook rushed to Lee's aid, but upon hearing her sing just one line, she was left speechless, describing it as a daunting challenge. To help Lee find her rhythm, Hyun-sook stood up, spread her arms, and demonstrated a unique rhythm technique. Lee quickly adapted to Hyun-sook's method, showing significant improvement. Hyun-sook expressed her pride, saying, "The song has become flavorful."

Comedian Park Myung-soo, observing the scene, also offered urgent advice on Lee's slightly off-beat singing. He warned, "If you sing like that, the judges will immediately buzz you out," and demonstrated the correct timing by clapping his hands, transforming into an impromptu producer.

Gaining confidence from Hyun-sook's emergency coaching, Lee arrived at the audition venue. However, she was overwhelmed by the unexpectedly fierce and unpredictable atmosphere. She confessed, "Since defecting from North Korea, I've never felt such tension," as she broke into a cold sweat.

Will Lee Soon-sil, the fearless defector-turned-broadcaster, manage to sing successfully at the 'National Singing Contest' auditions? Her journey will be aired at 4:40 PM today.
