JTBC's new weekend drama 'Everyone is Fighting Their Own Worthlessness' (shortened to 'EFW') follows the journey of a person driven mad by jealousy and envy among successful friends, seeking peace. Kang Mal-geum, known for her solid acting skills and unique style, plays 'Go Hye-jin', the head of the film production company 'GoBak Films'.
Go Hye-jin is a one-person powerhouse producer with sharp insight and decisive action. She delivers piercing remarks that force others to face reality, driven by a rough yet deep affection for films and people. She also runs the '8-member Club', a film industry gathering started by eight college alumni on the first floor of 'GoBak Films'.
The relationship between Go Hye-jin, Hwang Dong-man (Koo Kyo-hwan), and Park Kyung-se (Oh Jung-se) is a key point of interest. Go Hye-jin listens patiently to Hwang Dong-man, an aspiring director for 20 years, but doesn't hesitate to ban him from the 'Club' if he crosses the line. Despite being embarrassed by her husband Park Kyung-se's self-destructive behavior after a failed project, she delivers sharp yet sincere words to prevent him from self-sabotage, showcasing deep marital and collegial bonds.
