Dr. Oh Eun-young delivers a shocking analysis on a child who hides his true feelings.
On the upcoming episode of Channel A's 'My Golden Kids', airing on the 13th at 9 PM, the story of a 'third-grade son hiding his emotions and his father, three months post-divorce' will be revealed.
In the studio, a single dad with 'manhwa-like' visuals, raising his third-grade son alone, makes an appearance. The father-son duo, who usually spend time together like friends through sports and gaming, share their story of having changed residences and primary caregivers three times in three years, drawing attention. The father decided to appear on the show because his son has not opened up about his feelings since the divorce.
In the observed footage, the father is seen attending a CrossFit class, while the son waits for him to return home, spending time alone without showing any displeasure. During this time, an uncle, who often plays with the son, approaches him to spend time together. The uncle takes him to a claw machine arcade and suggests playing games, but the son only watches and suggests leaving. Even when offered spicy rice cakes, he lies, saying he doesn't eat them because they're too spicy.
In the following footage, the father and son are seen dining out for the first time in a while. The son becomes conscious of other families dining with both parents. When the father asks, "What do you think about living with grandma?", the son maturely responds, "Why do you care?" However, when the father brings up the mother, the son abruptly changes the subject to food. The father, curious about his son's true feelings, continues to ask questions, but the son avoids the conversation, causing concern.
When the son visits his mother after a month, he runs to her and holds her hand tightly, exchanging greetings. They take instant photos together, enjoying their time. When the mother suggests sharing the photos, the son declines, saying, "Dad will be sad." As the time to part with his mother approaches, the son shockingly refers to her as "aunt" and claims he doesn't have a mother, causing a stir in the studio. Dr. Oh observes this and suggests that the son might perceive his divorced parents as 'this'.
As the son's true feelings are revealed, the father sheds tears, and Dr. Oh comments, "While it's true that he loves him, the way he treats the child is problematic. The child might feel abandoned, like being thrown away."
The genuine feelings of the son, who hides his emotions while being mindful of his father, can be seen on the broadcast of 'My Golden Kids'.
