Premiering on October 14 at 10:30 PM, TV CHOSUN's new weekend mini-series 'Dr. Shin' (written by Phoebe, Im Sung-han) is a medical thriller drama about a genius doctor challenging the realm of the divine and a woman whose brain deteriorates overnight, losing her soul.
Jung I-chan takes on his first leading role as Shin Joo-shin, a genius doctor with near-supernatural brain surgery skills. Song Ji-in makes a dramatic transformation as Hyun Ran-hee, the mother of Momo (played by Baek Se-ra) and a gallery director.
In the drama, Jung I-chan and Song Ji-in captivate viewers with a 'sudden poolside encounter' where Shin Joo-shin (played by Jung I-chan) converses with Hyun Ran-hee (played by Song Ji-in), the mother of his beloved. Unlike Shin Joo-shin's emotionless demeanor, Hyun Ran-hee continues the conversation with a bright smile.
Tension rises as Hyun Ran-hee is taken aback by a remark from Shin Joo-shin. The intriguing dynamic between the prospective son-in-law and the mother of his love, both clad in robes and swimsuits, creates a mysterious atmosphere that piques curiosity.
Jung I-chan and Song Ji-in delivered intense performances for the 'sudden poolside encounter,' a 'signature' scene in writer Phoebe's works. To amplify the enigmatic atmosphere of the open pool setting, the actors rehearsed their lines extensively before filming. They skillfully portrayed the psychological tension and emotional shifts, enhancing the scene's quality.
The production team stated, "Anticipate the groundbreaking narrative that will unfold in 'Dr. Shin,' a 'Phoebe-style first medical thriller drama,' which raises curiosity with its signature scenes."
