Aired at 9:30 PM on the 5th, TV Chosun's 'Miss Trot 4' showcased the thrilling final showdown to crown the winner.
The final battle featured the top five contestants: Heo Chan-mi, Lee So-na, Hong Sung-yoon, Yoon Tae-hwa, and Gil Ryeo-won, who overcame fierce competition to reach this stage.
Gil Ryeo-won, who opened the finale, brought a moment of levity to the tense atmosphere with a charming mistake of forgetting her microphone upon entering the stage. Host Kim Sung-joo reassured her, noting that such things can happen during a first audition.
It was revealed that Gil Ryeo-won was a member of the audience in the previous season, 'Mr. Trot 3,' which added to the surprise. She expressed her overwhelming gratitude, saying, "I loved trot so much that I was in the audience, and now standing here feels like a dream."
Gil Ryeo-won chose Joo Hyun-mi's 'The King's Road' for her performance, showcasing her signature delicate vocal techniques and delivering a spectacular stage. She also shared her admiration for Park Ji-hyun, from whom she received an autograph as an audience member, fueling her dream of becoming a singer.
Another finalist, Yoon Tae-hwa, overcame the disappointment of 'Miss Trot 2' and finally reached the ultimate stage after a long journey. She chose Lee Mi-ja's 'Song is My Life' as her anthem, reflecting on her long period of obscurity since her debut in 2009.
Yoon Tae-hwa confessed that while she loved singing, it was also a source of frustration due to circumstances beyond her control. She recalled the painful time during the last season when she had to prepare for the competition while caring for her mother, who was in a coma. Seeing her mother healthy in the audience this time was a true miracle, she said, with tears in her eyes.
Master Kim Yong-im encouraged Yoon Tae-hwa, saying, "Having endured a long period of obscurity, a new life filled with greater love awaits you." Kim Hee-jae also praised her performance, stating, "The 18 years were not in vain, as proven by your calm and comfortable stage presence." Yoon Tae-hwa scored a high of 100 and a low of 92 from the judges, solidifying her status as a strong contender for the win.
