YouTubers Choi Go-gi and Yu Gyeol-ip have once again sparked controversy by appearing on a divorce reality show. This marks their return to the genre six years after their appearance on TV Chosun's 'We Got Divorced' Season 1.
On March 3, TV Chosun's official YouTube channel released a teaser for the new observational reality show 'X's Private Life.' The teaser, titled 'What if you had the chance to peek into the private life of your ex-spouse?', showcases the deepening emotional rift between Choi Go-gi and Yu Gyeol-ip compared to six years ago.
In the video, Choi Go-gi expresses his anger while watching a VCR, stating, "It feels like I'm being dissed," and "I feel dirty." Meanwhile, Yu Gyeol-ip is seen tearing up, saying, "How easy do you think I am?"
Choi Go-gi also reveals a past conflict between his father and Yu Gyeol-ip, mentioning, "The first thing my father said was, 'She's a tough one,'" which shocked viewers. Yu Gyeol-ip recalled the incident, saying, "It drove me crazy."
The video has drawn negative comments such as, "They seem to be doing fine, so why do this just because they're offered a spot?", "No self-respect," and "How much are they getting paid to appear?" Many viewers are puzzled by their participation in another divorce reality show, especially since Yu Gyeol-ip has recently appeared on Choi Go-gi's YouTube channel, showing a seemingly amicable relationship as they co-parent their daughter.
Choi Go-gi and Yu Gyeol-ip married in 2016 and had a daughter but divorced after four years. They previously gained attention by appearing on TV Chosun's 'We Got Divorced.' Currently, Choi Go-gi has custody of their daughter.
TV Chosun's new observational reality show 'X's Private Life' is set to premiere on March 17.
