On the 3rd, Heo Kyung-hwan was confirmed as a regular cast member of 'Hangout with Yoo'. His name appeared on the portal site's list of regular cast members, confirming his participation. Previously, the show had added a capybara character, resembling Heo, to its official YouTube channel artwork, catching the public's attention.
Heo also revived his past catchphrases like 'Unbalance' and 'Isn't this the taste?' receiving a warm response. His witty banter and timely catchphrases led to a trend on social media, with people participating in challenges mimicking his phrases.
However, Heo's journey to becoming a regular wasn't entirely smooth. In February, there were predictions of his permanent addition, but official announcements were delayed. His chemistry with Yoo Jae-suk on tvN's 'You Quiz on the Block' had already raised expectations. At the time, Heo candidly shared, "If it doesn't happen by March, I'll give up."
Heo Kyung-hwan began his broadcasting career in 2006 with a variety show and became a KBS 22nd class comedian in 2007. He gained popularity on KBS's 'Gag Concert' until 2011, creating numerous catchphrases. However, after venturing into the chicken breast business, he faced an unexpected crisis. In 2016, due to a partner's embezzlement, he incurred a debt of about 3 billion won. Heo revealed on a show, "I couldn't get married because of the debt. It was that tough."
For Heo, joining 'Hangout with Yoo' as a regular is a turning point, opening a new chapter in his life. Although it was an unexpected opportunity following Lee Yi-kyung's departure, Heo filled the role with diligence and comedic talent. Opportunities may come to anyone, but seizing them is up to the individual. Now established as a prominent broadcaster, Heo Kyung-hwan's future endeavors are highly anticipated.
