Bae Sung-woo, who previously faced controversy due to a DUI incident, is making a comeback to the film industry. His lead film, originally titled 'On-the-Spot Investigation,' has been renamed 'Ultimate Investigation' and is set to release seven years after wrapping up filming. Distributor Ace Maker Movie Works announced the film's release date as April 2, along with unveiling a teaser poster and trailer.

Inspired by true events, 'Ultimate Investigation' is a crime thriller that follows veteran detective Jae-hyuk, who has been demoted to a rural area. He seizes his last chance in life to solve a murder case involving two suspects, teaming up with rookie detective Joong-ho to conduct a thorough investigation in Seoul.

The released poster features a blood-stained hammer and evidence markers at a crime scene, with Jae-hyuk (Bae Sung-woo) and influencer-turned-rookie detective Joong-ho (Jung Ga-ram) walking side by side. The tagline, "One case, two suspects, the search for the real culprit begins," hints at the unpredictable nature of the case and raises anticipation for their 'ultimate investigation.'

The teaser trailer heightens tension with the line "That guy is a devil" and the sound of a piercing siren. It showcases the meticulously planned gruesome murder scene and the detectives securing blood-stained evidence, only to learn that another person has already been arrested for the crime. The duo meets the imprisoned suspect, who pleads innocence, prompting them to intensify their re-investigation. The relentless pursuit of the real culprit and thrilling car chases promise an exhilarating crime thriller experience.

'Ultimate Investigation,' based on the premise of one case with two suspects, marks director Park Cheol-hwan's first feature film, known for his work in series like 'Grid' and 'Dominant Species.' Bae Sung-woo and Jung Ga-ram team up as the detective duo. The film also stars Esom, known for her unique characters, Jo Han-chul, recognized for his solid acting skills, and Yoon Kyung-ho, who made a mark last year with 'Zombie Daughter' and 'Trauma Center.'

'Ultimate Investigation' will hit theaters on April 2.
