Yoon Tae-hwa's Emotional Performance Secures Spot in 'Miss Trot 4' Finals
Yoon Tae-hwa, who recently revealed her divorce, delivered a heart-wrenching performance that secured her a spot in the finals.

On the live broadcast of TV CHOSUN's 'Miss Trot 4' on the 26th, the much-anticipated semifinals took place. This episode, which determined the TOP 5 through a traditional trot showdown, saw Yoon Tae-hwa move the audience to tears with a performance dedicated to her grandmother, touching the hearts of viewers.

Yoon Tae-hwa chose to perform 'Mangmo,' originally by Na Hoon-a. Instead of showcasing flashy techniques, she focused on delivering each lyric with a restrained vocal style. Her calm recitation in the beginning gradually enveloped the audience in sadness, and as the song progressed, her unique emotional expression filled the stage.

Yoon Tae-hwa's clear and powerful voice amplified the song's poignancy, and her high notes, filled with longing, brought tears to the eyes of both the audience and the judges.

Judge Jang Yoon-jung praised, “This song is very difficult and not just anyone can sing it, but Yoon Tae-hwa is indeed experienced. She sang as if she was the narrator, making it feel like listening to a story. She sang without overdoing the emotions, yet did it very well. I gave her high marks. Well done.”

After her performance, Yoon Tae-hwa's score from the judges was 1547 points, placing her 5th among the TOP 10. She then received 170 points from online voting, 155 points from the national representative panel, and finally, 359.69 points from real-time text voting, bringing her total to 2231.69 points, securing 4th place and advancing to the finals next week.

With 18 years of experience in trot, Yoon Tae-hwa is the most seasoned contestant remaining. Before her performance, she shared, “I love traditional trot so much that I debuted at 19 and have been singing trot ever since. I will return to the time when I started because of my love for traditional trot and sing.”
