Actress Baek Seo-ra has been cast in a groundbreaking lead role in TV CHOSUN's new weekend mini-series 'Dr. Shin'. Born in 2002, Baek is represented by 935 Entertainment, the same agency as Namgoong Min.
Set to premiere on March 14 at 10:30 PM, 'Dr. Shin' (written by Phoebe, Im Sung-han) is a medical thriller drama about a genius doctor challenging the realm of the divine and a woman whose brain deteriorates overnight, losing her soul. This marks the first medical thriller penned by the renowned writer Phoebe, with director Lee Seung-hoon of 'Love (ft. Marriage and Divorce)' joining the project.
In 'Dr. Shin', Baek Seo-ra plays the role of Momo, a top actress at the peak of her career. Momo is set to marry the neurosurgery hospital director Shin Joo-shin (played by Jung Yi-chan) but suffers an accident that leaves her brain damaged while her body remains intact. All eyes are on Baek Seo-ra as she takes on this Cinderella-like role crafted by writer Phoebe.
From the first day of filming, Baek Seo-ra embodied Momo's pure beauty, elegance, and composed demeanor. She captivated attention by portraying Momo's secretive side, dressed in aristocratic attire at a restaurant and later in a disguise with dark sunglasses, a cropped t-shirt, and a hat.
Baek Seo-ra expressed, “I am deeply grateful to have been given my first lead role in 'Dr. Shin', my debut acting project. The weight of this opportunity is significant, and I feel a great sense of responsibility. Despite my worries, I see this as a tremendous learning opportunity and will diligently prepare each scene to lead the project successfully.”
