Millionaire Park Se-hoon, who reinvested his fortune from the air conditioning business into a silver town, will be featured on 'Neighborhood Millionaire.'
Airing on October 25 at 9:55 PM, EBS's 'Seo Jang-hoon's Neighborhood Millionaire' will unveil the dramatic life story of Chairman Park Se-hoon, the mastermind behind a $200 million 'urban silver town' built on a 2,000-pyeong site in Gangnam, Seoul.
Park Se-hoon is a self-made entrepreneur who dedicated 40 years to the air conditioning heat exchanger business, achieving an annual revenue of up to 140 billion won. He is known for designing Korea's first building that combines a silver town with a care facility, ensuring safety, health, and a dignified life for the senior generation. Park has pledged not to take any profit from the silver town, pouring his earnings from the air conditioning business into the project. His decision to give back to society and the touching story behind it will be revealed in the broadcast.
The episode will also offer a first look inside the silver town, home to 230 households and approximately 300 residents. It features various living spaces, from cozy 16-pyeong standard units to 25-pyeong expanded units, all designed with seniors' safety and convenience in mind.
The silver town boasts a range of community facilities, including a karaoke room, fitness center, library, and health management center, as well as a restaurant offering balanced meals. These amenities showcase the vibrant lifestyle and high-quality living environment available to seniors. During the tour, Jang Ye-won humorously asks, "Can I make a reservation now?" as she expresses her interest in the silver town.
The silver town holds special significance for Seo Jang-hoon, who reveals, "My grandmother lived here until two years ago." Park Se-hoon fondly recalls, "Seo's grandmother was always neat and lively. She would come down to the lobby every morning and give me a high five as if checking in for work."
Seo Jang-hoon smiles at the memory of his grandmother's strong personality but is moved to tears by unexpected reminders of her presence and Park's heartfelt words, "She was a precious elder to us as well."
The emotional reunion with Seo Jang-hoon's beloved grandmother, which even brings Jang Ye-won to tears, can be witnessed on 'Seo Jang-hoon's Neighborhood Millionaire.'
