'ChungTV' Bounces Back with Viral 'Chuno' Parody After Staff Departure

The official YouTube channel of Chungju City, 'ChungTV,' faced a potential subscriber drop following the resignation announcement of its popular staff member, Kim Seon-tae. However, the channel has made a dramatic comeback with a viral 'Chuno' parody video.

As of 4 PM on the 23rd, the 'Chuno' parody video released by 'ChungTV' has surpassed 4.05 million views. In the video, Choi Ji-ho, a new staff member, cleverly parodies the popular drama 'Chuno,' capturing the audience's attention.

Choi, donning a fake beard to emulate the character Lee Dae-gil (played by Jang Hyuk), humorously reenacts a famous scene where Lee Dae-gil breaks down in tears while eating alone after losing a comrade. This performance has brought much laughter to viewers.

The video has had an immediate positive impact on the channel's atmosphere, which was shaken after Kim's resignation. The subscriber count had plummeted from 970,000 to 740,000, raising concerns about the channel's survival. However, following the video's release, the subscriber count has rebounded to 761,000, indicating a gain of over 20,000 subscribers in a short period.

The response from netizens has been overwhelmingly positive. Comments such as "Chungju Man is gone, but Chungju Woman has arrived," "Isn't she more of a crisis manager than an administrative officer?" and "Who knew her successor would be so capable?" reflect the encouragement and support from viewers. The video is praised not only for its parody but also for maintaining 'ChungTV's identity and showcasing its ability to adapt its content.

Meanwhile, 'ChungTV,' Chungju City's flagship online channel, has gained nationwide recognition with its unique content centered around Kim Seon-tae. With Kim's departure after seven years as the face of the channel, all eyes are on Choi Ji-ho to see if she can lead the channel into a 'second golden age.'
