In the recent episodes of tvN's weekend drama 'Undercover Miss Hong', aired on the 21st and 22nd, Lee Deok-hwa portrays Kang Pil-beom, the chairman of Hanmin Securities, who shows a frigid demeanor towards Executive Director Oh Deok-kyu, played by Kim Hyung-mook.
In 'Undercover Miss Hong', Hanmin Securities is involved in managing slush funds for politicians, even providing interest. However, Kang Pil-beom distrusts Oh Deok-kyu, the person in charge. Summoning Oh to his office, Kang subtly suggests he step down from managing the funds, saying, "Just endure this one last time," and "This kind of work is better suited for younger people."
Subsequently, Kang blames Oh for the failure to secure public funds, stating, "You should have done better. The balance isn't even as good as last year," and proceeds to fire him. Previously, Kang had also dismissed loyal employees like Manager Bang Jin-mok (Kim Do-hyun) and Director Seo Kyung-dong (Seo Hyun-chul). Through Kang Pil-beom, Lee Deok-hwa showcases a brutal charisma and chilling authority, leaving a strong impression.
Kang Pil-beom further heightens the tension by doubting Shin Jung-woo, played by Go Kyung-pyo, a close associate of DK Ventures, who plans to invest in Hanmin Securities. As Shin attempts to manipulate Hanmin Securities with DK Ventures, viewers are eager to see how the conflict between Kang and Shin will unfold.
'Undercover Miss Hong' is a comedic office drama set in the late 1990s, following elite securities supervisor Hong Geum-bo (Park Shin-hye) as she goes undercover as a 20-year-old entry-level employee at a securities firm where suspicious financial activities are detected. The show airs every Saturday and Sunday at 9:10 PM.
