On the October 14th episode of JTBC's variety show 'Yes Man,' soccer legend Kim Young-kwang was eliminated as the fourth contestant, paving the way for Hwang Jae-gyun to join the cast.
During the episode, Hwang shared, "I decided to join 'Yes Man' in just one second after watching it, thinking I had retired."
In response, Kim Nam-il quipped, "I guess you didn't see a future in baseball," causing a stir in the studio. Hwang replied, "It's okay, since we're sitting together."
Yoon Suk-min then asked Hwang, "I heard you retired and weren't planning to do any shows." Hwang clarified, "I meant I wasn't going to do baseball-related shows, but the news reported it differently." Ha Seung-jin chimed in, mentioning 'I Live Alone,' to which Hwang, though flustered, responded, "That's right."
Seo Jang-hoon, observing the exchange, commented, "This is a very important skill. I've been on the receiving end from Kim Hee-chul and Lee Soo-geun for over a decade, and while I don't think it's ideal, it is funny," referencing his own divorce.
Meanwhile, Hwang Jae-gyun married Jiyeon from the group T-ara in December 2022. However, the couple faced multiple rumors of separation and divorce, ultimately divorcing in October last year. At the time, Hwang stated, "Due to irreconcilable differences, we have decided to divorce after much deliberation. We have already submitted a divorce mediation application to the Seoul Family Court and plan to conclude the process amicably."
