The highly anticipated play 'Life of Pi', featuring actor Park Jung-min, was abruptly canceled just moments before its scheduled start.
According to theater industry sources on the 10th, the play, which was set to begin at 7:30 PM, was canceled at 7:25 PM due to technical issues. The organizers cited a technical malfunction as the reason for the cancellation.
The organizers explained, "A sudden technical issue with some lighting equipment occurred before the performance. Despite attempts to resolve it, we determined that proceeding with the performance was not feasible, leading to the unavoidable cancellation." They added, "During the final checks, an unknown issue caused the lighting equipment to fail, and for safety reasons, we decided to cancel the performance."
The organizers promised a 110% refund of the ticket price and stated, "We will individually notify and guide each attendee. We sincerely apologize to the audience who came to see the show."
Despite the compensation offer, the audience, who traveled from various parts of the country to see Park Jung-min, remains upset. Criticism of the organizers' inadequate handling of the situation is also mounting. One attendee remarked, "Is it right to announce the cancellation through an inaudible announcement while we are waiting at the entrance? It feels like a disrespectful and irresponsible act."
'Life of Pi' is a theatrical adaptation of Yann Martel's novel 'Life of Pi'. The performance was set to feature Park Jung-min, along with Hwang Man-ik, Joo Ah, and Jin Sang-hyun.
