South Korean TV personality Jang Young-ran has revealed that she was a victim of a voice phishing scam for nine months, leaving fans in shock.
On the 11th, a video titled "(Real Situation) Jang Young-ran's Tearful Confession of Being Scammed Out of Millions" was uploaded to her YouTube channel 'A-Class Jang Young-ran.'
In the video, Jang Young-ran, along with her husband Han Chang, participated in a talk show skit. During the segment, Han Chang and the production team discussed how Jang Young-ran's trusting nature led to her being scammed.
The incident began with a long-standing acquaintance. Jang Young-ran shared, "I met someone who claimed to be a fan, saying they had seen me with a friend who used to be my stylist." She added, "They said their boyfriend was a Thai prince and we exchanged greetings on KakaoTalk."
When she was contemplating whether to send money, the scammer even sent a photo of an ID card, claiming, 'You can trust me.' However, a friend's search revealed a shocking twist: the person in the ID photo was deceased.
Regarding Jang Young-ran's 'multi-million scam,' Han Chang revealed, "It was a significant amount. We didn't get the money back, nor did we receive any shares."
