The home refrigerator of 'eccentric genius' Chef Lee Chan-yang is set to be revealed.
On the October 5th episode of MBC's variety show 'Save Me! Holmes' (hereafter referred to as 'Holmes'), viewers will get an inside look at the restaurants and homes of chefs featured on Netflix's 'Black and White Chef 2'.
The episode will feature Chef Yoon Nam-no, known as the 'Cooking Oddball' from 'Black and White Chef 1', and 'Goddess of Chinese Cuisine' Chef Park Eun-young, alongside celebrity foodie Kim Sook. Together, they will explore the so-called 'Black and White Zone', an area dense with restaurants run by 'Black and White Chef' participants.
The trio will visit areas in Yongsan and Gangnam, examining the local dining scene. In Yongsan, they will not only visit the restaurants of 'Black and White Chef 2' stars but also their actual living spaces, revealing behind-the-scenes stories never shared before.
Their next stop is the home of 'eccentric genius' Chef Lee Chan-yang, who works at a restaurant in Cheongdam-dong. Despite working in Gangnam, he has been living in Yongsan for six years, valuing the emotional connection to his daily life. His home life, starkly different from his professional demeanor, is sure to surprise viewers.
His refrigerator is filled with expired ingredients, and the freezer is so frosted over that retrieving items is a challenge. Chef Yoon Nam-no observes, "Chefs are only particular about their restaurant fridges, not their home ones," drawing laughter and agreement. This realistic contrast between work and home life adds a humorous twist.
Chef Lee Chan-yang's special ramen recipe will also be unveiled. He admits to rarely cooking at home, joking that his gas bill is as low as 100 won. Instead, he demonstrates his unique ramen recipe, usually prepared at his workplace. Chefs Yoon Nam-no and Park Eun-young, blindfolded, serve as judges. Known for his ramen expertise, Chef Yoon Nam-no immediately demands more after tasting the broth, exclaiming, "You know I'm a ramen short-form machine, right?!" The question remains whether Chef Lee's special ramen will win over their taste buds, as curiosity about his recipe grows.
