The reason behind the death of Seo Hee-won, who was married to singer Koo Jun-yup, has been analyzed.
On February 3rd at 8:30 PM, KBS 2TV's 'Celebrity Soldier's Secret' will spotlight the miraculous reunion of first loves, Koo Jun-yup and Seo Hee-won.
The episode will feature hosts Lee Chan-won, Jang Do-yeon, and Lee Nak-jun, along with Oh My Girl's Hyojung and lyricist Kim Eana. The studio heated up with the keyword 'first love' as Hyojung shared her own story of a school crush, and Lee Chan-won revealed his cherished first love tale.
The story begins in the 1990s during the peak of the original Hallyu wave, with the rise of the band Clone. Koo Jun-yup and Seo Hee-won met on a Taiwanese variety show and fell in love, only to be separated by reality. However, their story didn't end there; 20 years later, a single phone call rekindled their connection.
Their story became so famous in Taiwan that a saying emerged: "To reunite with your first love, don't change your phone number for 20 years." Hyojung expressed excitement over their miraculous reunion, while Kim Eana was deeply moved, describing it as emotions bursting forth.
Their marriage, hailed as a love story of the century, was tragically short-lived. Seo Hee-won passed away on the fifth day of a trip to Japan, after a mild fever rapidly developed into sepsis. The sudden news shocked many, leading to a spread of unverified rumors.
ENT specialist and trauma center writer Lee Nak-jun analyzed why Seo Hee-won's pneumonia was so fatal. Her congenital heart condition, 'mitral valve prolapse,' and past experience with 'preeclampsia' during childbirth were critical factors. Lee explained the deadly chain reaction when a virus attacks someone with a heart condition, leaving the studio in shock.
The tragedy didn't end there. Sensational rumors and fake news surrounding her ex-husband further fueled the studio's outrage.
On the first anniversary of her passing, the production team visited her resting place in Jinbaoshan, Taiwan. Jang Do-yeon reported on Koo Jun-yup's current state, who visited the grave even in heavy rain, saying, "Hee-won is lying there in much more pain than I am, how could I not come?" This moved the studio to tears.
