Rapper Dok2 Faces Allegations of Unpaid Jewelry Debt Despite Court Order
Rapper Dok2 (36, real name Lee Joon-kyung) is facing allegations of failing to fulfill his debt obligations related to unpaid jewelry payments, even after a court-mandated settlement. Known for popularizing the term 'FLEX' and flaunting his wealth, Dok2's financial dealings are under scrutiny.

According to a report on the 3rd, legal representatives from the law firm OhKims, including attorney Kim Yong-beom and foreign attorney Lee Sang-yeop, stated that "Dok2 agreed to repay his debt in three installments as per the court's compulsory mediation decision, but has only made one payment so far, leaving the remaining amount unpaid."

Previously, a jewelry business owner, identified as A, filed a lawsuit against Dok2's former agency, Illionaire Records, in October 2019. A claimed that Dok2 purchased seven pieces of jewelry, including gold rings and necklaces worth approximately $206,000, between September and November 2018, but failed to pay $34,740 of the total amount.

The case was settled in July 2022 through compulsory mediation by the Seoul Southern District Court's Civil Appeals Division 4. The court ordered Dok2 to pay the outstanding amount of $34,740 along with delayed interest in three installments by January 6, 2023, with a stipulation that any missed deadline would require immediate payment of the remaining balance and interest.

However, according to A, Dok2 has only paid $11,580 on September 7, 2022, leaving $23,160 unpaid. Including delayed interest, the unpaid amount now totals approximately $32,623.55, equivalent to around 49 million Korean won.

The legal representatives noted that despite citing financial difficulties, Dok2 is residing in the United States long-term and is likely earning a substantial amount from copyright royalties. They criticized his failure to comply with the court's decision, stating it undermines the judicial system.

Additionally, they revealed plans to investigate the asset structure and establishment details of 808HiRecordings, a label recently founded by Dok2 and his partner, singer Lee Hi. They are considering legal actions such as forced execution or provisional seizure to recover the debt if necessary.

Dok2 and Lee Hi publicly confirmed their relationship on the 28th of last month. The two met through MBC's 'Infinite Challenge' in 2016 and have been collaborating on music, eventually developing a romantic relationship by the end of 2022.
