In episodes 9 and 10 of the KBS 2TV weekend mini-series 'Beloved Thief,' which aired on January 31 and February 1, Moon Sang-min, playing the role of Prince Yi Yeol, sheds his initial immature image. He throws himself into saving his beloved Hong Eun-jo (played by Nam Ji-hyun) and the people.
Moon Sang-min skillfully depicts the transformation from a boy rejected by Hong Eun-jo, exuding a sense of insignificance, to a man willing to risk his life to save his loved one in moments of crisis. Particularly, the scene in episode 9 where he smiles faintly after taking an arrow to protect Hong Eun-jo captivated viewers.
In episode 10, Moon Sang-min showcases his flexibility by forming a strategic alliance with his rival Im Jae-yi (played by Hong Min-ki) to protect Hong Eun-jo, while also standing in stark opposition to King Yi Gyu (played by Ha Seok-jin). His ability to convey the moment of soul-switching with just a glance heightened the immersion for the audience.
With the soul-switching signaling a new phase and an unpredictable second act, Moon Sang-min completes his growth narrative with a wide acting spectrum that spans comedy and drama, solidifying his position as a master of romantic melodrama.
Episode 11 of 'Beloved Thief' will air on February 7 at 9:20 PM.
