Cha Seung-won brings laughter with a dumpling mishap.
On the October 29th episode of tvN's variety show 'Chagane', the finale of the Thai trip was aired, featuring Cha Seung-won and Choo Sung-hoon as they embarked on a spicy culinary adventure. The duo, with their unique sauces, hosted a tasting event in Bangkok, setting the stage for their next journey to Japan.
Cha Seung-won and Choo Sung-hoon, who had been meticulously preparing for the success of their spicy venture, showcased their culinary skills in Bangkok. Cha presented a spicy pork stir-fry with a Thai twist, while Choo offered bite-sized chicken with a fruity 'Chubasco' sauce. Despite unexpected challenges, the team overcame obstacles with determination. Cha Seung-won, in particular, demonstrated his leadership by cooking the pork stir-fry on the spot.
As the tasting event commenced, tension filled the air. Locals of various generations, along with Korean families and German tourists, attended the event, providing candid feedback. Cha's spicy pork stir-fry received praise, with comments like "It could be sold," and "Young people would love this taste." Choo's 'Chubasco' chicken also garnered significant attention, leading to 42 tastings.
The successful tasting event was also supported by the efforts of their teammates. DinDin and Danny Koo energized the crowd by calling Choo "Sexyama" and introducing Cha as "Korea's George Clooney." The friendly rivalry between Cha and Choo added humor as they competed subtly in front of the display.
Reactions to the spiciness varied. While the 'Chubasco' sauce was deemed delicious, it was considered sweet by Thai locals but spicy by foreigners. Cha's pork sauce, with 28 tastings, was praised for its rich flavor and spiciness, with comments noting it tasted like a fusion of Korean and Thai cuisine.
After the successful event, the team enjoyed their last night in Thailand. Cha Seung-won attempted to cook for his hungry teammates but ended up burning dumplings, creating a sitcom-like scene. A playful debate over sauce ownership ensued, with Cha joking about patenting 'Chubasco' in Korea, prompting a humorous response from Choo and laughter from DinDin and Danny Koo.
The next destination for the spice-loving team was Japan. In Tokyo, Choo led the team to a sushi restaurant famous for its wasabi, aiming to learn the local secrets. Known for his unique palate, Choo continued to entertain with his insatiable appetite.
The team then headed to Shizuoka, the birthplace of wasabi, to study fresh wasabi. Choo took the wheel, but the unexpected dark forest path left the members bewildered. The anticipation builds as they seek to discover the spicy kick in Shizuoka and expand their business.
