K-Pop Star Jang Hyun-seung Reflects on Past Mistakes and Apologizes to Fans
K-pop singer Jang Hyun-seung has issued a heartfelt apology to his fans, reflecting on his past behavior, often referred to as his 'dark days.'

In a recent video titled 'Jang Hyun-seung Reads Stories from His Dark Days and Holds a Final Exorcism,' released on the YouTube channel 'MMTG Civilization Express,' produced by SBS News, Jang Hyun-seung confronts his past head-on.

In the video, host JaeJae shares anecdotes from Jang's past, setting the tone for the discussion. One fan recounted waiting to see Jang after a musical performance, only to be ignored, which left a lasting trauma. Jang, reflecting on the incident from 14 years ago, admitted, "I was really immature back then," and expressed regret for not acknowledging fans who took the time to see him.

Jang continued to express remorse as more stories were shared. He recalled signing autographs in just three seconds or hiding his face with a hat and mask, refusing to engage with fans. Jang remarked, "If my daughter experienced something like this, I would have shaved the person's head," showing his regret.

Jang admitted that his desire to appear cynical led to a lack of professionalism. He particularly remembered a middle school fan who saved up for a year to meet him, only to receive curt responses. Jang expressed a desire to meet and embrace that fan again.

Together with JaeJae, Jang humorously categorized the challenges idols face over the years as 'demons.' From the excitement of debut to the 'solo syndrome' in years 1-3, the 'man syndrome' in years 4-6, the 'change syndrome' during contract renewals in years 7-9, and the 'senior demon' after 10 years, Jang offered advice on behaviors idols should avoid, showcasing his maturity.

Having left his group Beast due to past controversies, Jang has returned with a more open attitude towards fans after his military service. He reflected, "I'm embarrassed by my immature past," and expressed gratitude to those who support him now. Fans have responded positively to Jang's candid reflection and growth, dubbing him the 'exorcism idol.'
