Lee Joon Admits to Stirring Controversy on 'Workman' for Attention

Singer and actor Lee Joon has confessed that the controversy surrounding his appearance on 'Workman' was a deliberate attempt to attract attention.

On the 26th, the YouTube channel 'Jipdaeseong' released a video titled 'We Met at 20, and Now We're Almost 40.' The video featured second-generation idols Jung Yong-hwa, Yoon Doo-joon, and Lee Joon.

In the opening, Lee Joon humorously greeted Yoon Doo-joon, saying, "It's been a while since I've seen Beast, they were complete rivals."

Lee Joon, who has appeared on KBS2's '1 Night 2 Days' and the YouTube variety show 'Workman,' showcased his broadcasting skills. When his self-editing skills were pointed out, Lee Joon mentioned, "This is how controversies arise," referring to the backlash he received, which elicited laughter.

Particularly, when a pizza appeared, Lee Joon joked, "Does it cost about 10 million won? Isn't a pizza these days about 25 million won?" recreating his clueless persona from 'Workman.' Daesung commented on Lee Joon's transformation, saying, "You've changed a lot since 'Workman.'"

In August, Lee Joon faced criticism on 'Workman' for asking a café manager if they earned "10 million won a month." He admitted, "The production team suggested editing it out, but I insisted on keeping it. I wanted to make sure people knew Lee Joon was on 'Workman.'"

Reflecting on the backlash, Lee Joon said, "I didn't expect it to become this noisy," and expressed his candid thoughts about DinDin, who was praised as a 'sensible celebrity' for criticizing celebrities' lack of understanding of currency value.

Lee Joon humorously remarked, "DinDin appears on too many shows. He was on 'Pisik Show' recently and has become a likable 'sensible celebrity.' He wasn't like that before," drawing laughter.

Jung Yong-hwa, who has been friends with Lee Joon since their trainee days, revealed, "Hyung is actually smart but pretends not to know things. He always asks, 'Why is this trending?' while on Instagram," exposing Lee Joon's 'fake life.'

As the focus shifted to him, Lee Joon lamented, "Without Kwanghee, this is what happens to me." Daesung expressed curiosity about Lee Joon's stammering, saying, "Why does he remind me of Jongmin hyung?" Jung Yong-hwa added, "Lee Joon hyung is usually calm, but he talks like this when the camera is on," catching attention.
