2025 MAMA Awards to Proceed in Hong Kong Despite Major Fire Tragedy
Despite a major fire incident in Hong Kong, the '2025 MAMA AWARDS' will proceed as planned, with the remaining artists set to depart for Hong Kong today, November 27.

According to TENASIA's investigation on the 27th, there were speculations that the '2025 MAMA Awards' might be canceled due to the large-scale fire in Hong Kong. However, the decision has been made to continue with the event. Consequently, the artists responsible for presenting awards are scheduled to depart for Hong Kong around 3 PM today.

As of the morning of November 27, a day before the '2025 MAMA Awards,' K-pop artists such as Stray Kids, IVE, RIIZE, ZEROBASEONE, CORTIS, ALLDAY PROJECT, and BOYNEXTDOOR have already departed.

On November 26, at approximately 2 PM local time, a massive fire broke out in a high-rise apartment complex in the Tai Po area of northern Hong Kong. The fire has resulted in at least 44 fatalities, with 45 individuals in critical condition and 279 reported missing. While the fire has been contained in three apartment buildings, efforts to extinguish the blaze continue in the remaining four buildings. This incident is likely to be recorded as the worst disaster in Hong Kong since its handover from Britain to China in 1997. Hong Kong authorities have raised the fire alarm level to the highest grade, Level 5.
