NewJeans Members Confirm Exclusive Contract with ADOR, Opt Not to Appeal Court Ruling

All members of the K-pop group NewJeans have decided not to appeal the first trial ruling regarding their exclusive contract with their agency, ADOR.

According to the music industry on the 14th, NewJeans members Hae-rin, Hye-in, Min-ji, Danielle, and Hani did not submit an appeal by the deadline at midnight. Consequently, the first trial ruling by the Seoul Central District Court's Civil Agreement Division 41, presided over by Judge Jeong Hoe-il, which was delivered on the 30th of last month, has been finalized.

The court had ruled in favor of ADOR, stating that the exclusive contract with the five NewJeans members is valid. Although the members initially expressed their intention to appeal immediately after the ruling, they ultimately did not proceed with the appeal within the given timeframe.

On the day before the appeal deadline, on the 12th, NewJeans members announced their intention to return. Hae-rin and Hye-in officially expressed their decision to return through ADOR. At that time, ADOR stated, "We will support Hae-rin and Hye-in to continue their activities smoothly."

Min-ji, Danielle, and Hani also announced their return to ADOR through a separate law firm on the same day. Unlike Hae-rin and Hye-in, these three members made their announcement without prior consultation with the agency, leaving further coordination with ADOR pending. ADOR commented, "We are coordinating individual meetings with the three members and will do our best to ensure smooth discussions."

Meanwhile, the exclusive contract between NewJeans and ADOR remains in effect until July 31, 2029.
