Actress Kim Hee-sun has revealed why she chose to play the character of a 'career break mom' who becomes a home shopping host.
On the 10th, a press conference for TV Chosun's new Monday-Tuesday miniseries 'No Next Life' was held at the Stanford Hotel in Sangam, Mapo-gu, Seoul. The event was attended by actors Kim Hee-seon, Han Hye-jin, Jin Seo-yeon, Yoon Bak, Heo Jun-seok, and Jang In-sub.
'No Next Life' is a comedic growth story about three 41-year-old friends who are exhausted by daily life, parenting battles, and monotonous work routines. Kim Hee-sun plays Jo Na-jung, a once-promising home shopping host with a six-figure salary, who is now a 'career break mom' with two sons.
Kim Hee-sun explained her reason for taking the role, saying, "It felt like my own story. I think every woman in her 40s might ponder this at least once. The six-year career break resonated with me. I usually take time to read scripts, but this one was a quick read."
She continued, "I also spent six years at home raising my child after getting married and having a baby. The days were long, and I often imagined myself in the roles I saw on TV. I missed my work. Now, I'm grateful to be working again. It feels precious and valuable, especially after taking a break."
'No Next Life' premieres on the 10th at 10 PM.
